Here's the starting five for the 1952 PSAL Champions, Boys High School, in a bird's-eye shot from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. The Kangaroos defeated Jefferson in the PSAL Brooklyn final, topped Bayside in the PSAL City semifinal and routed Seward Park 51-29 in the PSAL City final.
Before 1952, the last time Boys High had won the PSAL City title was in 1917. The Kangaroos would go on to win six (6) PSAL crowns between 1957 and 1969, including back-to-back titles in 1959 and 1960 behind the late, great Connie Hawkins. The 1952 squad was led by Ronald Bressant, who scored 21 points in the PSAL final and went on to play for Virginia Union.
