Lincoln took Round 1 of one of New York City's fircest rivalries, edging Jefferson 82-76 in East New York on Saturday.
Jasiah Lewis had 17 points for the Railsplitters, who handed the Orange Wave their first PSAL league loss of the season. Lincoln and Jefferson are now deadlocked atop of the prestigous Brooklyn AA Division, both sitting at 8-1.
Omar Rowe and Kenechukwu Ndefo scored 15 each for Lincoln, which has now won six straight PSAL league contests since falling to Brooklyn Collegiate on December 7th. The Railsplitters get another shot at Brooklyn Collegiate on Tuesday, when they will host the Lions in Coney Island.
Jefferson got 19 points from freshman standout Jaquan Carlos and 19 points and 13 rebounds from senior Stephen Moncrieffe. The Orange Wave will visit Paul Robeson on Tuesday.
The Round 2 meeting of the 2017 PSAL AA finalists will take place on February 6th in Coney Island.
